Madden 10 Bugs Fixed For Madden 11

Most of the Madden 11 game play footage provided from E3 showcases the new Madden 11 features (ex: locomotion). Many hardcore Madden fans want to know if Madden 10 bugs such as flat zone coverage, off tackle, and rocket catching have been fixed. In this game play footage, we show a game between Sparkz and Raid Troop, two hardcore Madden players, where they test out known issues from Madden 10.

Jets Vs. Raiders Game play

First, you can tell that the flats zones actually cover the flats. You can no longer roll out and suck in defenders playing the flats. Next, you can see that the rocket catch is not nearly as consistent as before. It appears that while you still can trigger the rocket catch animation, the defenders play the ball much better. Finally, the off tackle running play is still in the game, but it is not overly effective like it was in Madden 10. Many people based their whole offense on running off tackle and abusing the flats in Madden 10, so it is nice to see both of issues are fixed for Madden 11.

Additionally, it seems that EA has finally fixed the offensive and defensive interaction on the sidelines. In the past, it was commonplace for receivers to not make an effort to keep both feet inbounds while catching the ball. Defensively, it was nearly impossible to catch an interception near the sidelines. In this video, you see multiple attempts where the receiver keeps both feet inbounds on the sidelines. It is a little harder to judge if you can intercept the ball on the sidelines, so we will have to reserve judgement on that one for now.

The Raiders and Jets certainly to appear to both be very talented teams. I can see a lot of people jumping on the Jets bandwagon for Madden 11. The Raiders speed on both offense and defense is going to be very difficult to deal with. On the other hand, the Jets have one of best defenses ever in Madden, and have vastly upgraded their offense.
