Madden Defensive Tip

Play: Turbo Blitz WITHOUT using the analogs!

Breakdown: the reason the turbo blitz is more effective without using the joysticks is because when your manually chasing the QB it’s easier to be evaded.The turbo blitz has been around since 08, basically what your doing is getting as close to the line of scrimmage as possible and holding turbo so when the ball is snapped your getting to the QB as fast as possible. To do the Turbo Blitz you must first use a straight down blitz angle and have your fastest player running this. Setup: Push A and let go, hod RT and tap RB while holding RT. That’s it! Remember to have straight blitz angle and be as close to L.O.S as possible.

Madden Tip: Hide man to man coverage

Play: 3-4 Over Pinch found in the NYJ defense

Breakdown: Come out with play flipped, substitute your fastest DB’s and Safetys in. Sub LILB for speed LB. As soon as you come out on field with play flipped, press coverage, flip then freeze the D so they do’nt move around all over the field. (press coverage = Man Align). Mix this with fag D by put outside blitzers in purple zone, both ends in contain and blitzing ILB in a spy or yellow. Mix up the ends by putting one in spy and blitzing ILB into a deep blue when hes over the center. Madden 10 Tips – Deep Ball

 Gun Trips TE – Deep Fork

Breakdown: Put speed receiver in as the one doing deep post over mid, put tall receiver in for corner post. Slide protect towards the side of the receivers. Block slot receiver doing curl. Roll out under posts looking to hit first one that’s open. The corner posts will be open vs cover 3 and the deep post over mid is always open with a speed receiver running the route. I like to mix this play with the HB screen.

Madden 10 Defense Tip: 46 Normal Safe pt.2

Madden 10 Defensive Tip:

Play: 46 normal Safe

Breakdown: With this play you will need to put your fastest DB at SS. Reblitz the RE on the right of the screen as well as the SS. Place the SS on the inside hip of the RE, he will blitz between the RT & RG. I like to either play FS or ROLB as a purple/flat/yellow. *optional- put the LDT in spy and dumb out the O-line by holding LT for 2 full secs. after ball is snapped. Remember to move FS over Center and playmake him into a deep blue zone if your not gonna user him.

Madden 10 Tips:

Play: 46 normal 3 deep

Breakdown: Make sure your LOLB & MLB are fast enough to play man to man coverage. First thing to do is freeze the defense. Then put both DE’s in purple and the ROLB who is blitzing put him in a yellow zone. *optional, sometime i take the blitzing ROLB and man him up to someone or put him in a purple buzz zone, note, if the ROLB is in purple the put the RE on his side in a yellow instead. I do that vs compressions. I then leave whichever DT is bigger or has more block shedding to blitz & put the other one in a spy.

Madden 10 Tips – 46 Normal Zone Blitz

Madden 10 Nano Blitz:
Play: 46 normal zone blitz

Breakdown: Make sure you have fast SS, OLB and or MLB. The pressure will come from the outside if they pinch their offensive line so a speed LOLB or SS is key to getting a pick or INT. If they do aggressive slide protect or nothing at all to the O line then the pressure will come up the middle. This middle pressure can be brought from the ROLB or MLB whichever is more suitable from your personnel, as seen with the Seahawks I have Aaron Curry as the ROLB and leroy hill LOLB as well as my corner (Josh Wilson- 95 speed) at the SS position to bring the right side outside pressure. To get the pressure from the LOLB and SS you must reblitz them and move them about 4 yards away from the tackles and as close to the LOS as possible. The first thing I do however is freeze the defense (man align) so that none of the LB’s move around to far, this will save time for when you bring them to their spots. The MLB I put right over the LG as close as possible and blitz him straight down, the right side ROLB I blitz behind him but a little more to the inside hip so he can come through between the LG & C clean. Finally just setup the outside pressure like I previously stated. *optional- I like to put the RDT in a spy as seen in video. The reasoning for this is because I can dumb out the tackles and guards so they are out of play. What I do is hold LT while I’m using the RDT after hes in a spy. When the ball is hiked he will stand straight up and not move, after 2 seconds I drop him back into coverage as seen in video. Be sure and check our Ebook section for more great guides and tips.

Breakdown: Make sure slot receiver is on short side of the field. Make sure the outside receiver on same side of short side is tall and fast, (rocket catch/motion quick hike) motion him 1 full step then hike, he will burn man and man press if done correctly. Put opposite iso receiver in a drag route. Make sure you do dual HB package unless you have good TE. I also like to put a tall receiver/TE in the slot for the RC vs Cov 4. Also vs cover 4 the shake n bake route from the HB is open as well as the drag & if you formation audible to PA then it will give you a HB flat delayed route that’s open vs any defense. Formation audible down to the run and its the deadly HB power O. I like to slide protect the opposite way I’m running vs 3 down linemen otherwise use aggressive slide protect for best results, this run is a monster when married with the motion.

Breakdown: This play is from gun tight flex found in the Run n Gun playbook, the play is called WR Cross. This play is best used for man to man defense but the unique HB route will also beat most coverages as well as the crossing routes vs any zone blitz blitz.

Madden 10 – Playmaker Rocket Catch

Play: Any

Setup: VS fag defense aka all out coverage this has the best percentage. Simply block every offensive receiver except one ( tallest) or put a tall TE in a fade and streak a speed receiver and block everyone else.Snap ball and play maker by holding LT/L2 then moving right joystick in the desired direction. When you feel like you have no more time that’s when you play maker him to sideline. For best results don’t do it for more than 20-25 yards. After you throw high bullet to sideline to the player maker receiver wait a full second or two before clicking on then loop the receiver towards the QB and hold Y to make the catch.
