The most interesting thing I took from these ratings is the amount of players rated at 99 overall. In Madden 11, there are currently six players rated at 99 overall. In past years of Madden, you would be hard pressed to find more than two to four players rated at 99 at the same time. The most surprising player out of these elite six has to be Jared Allen. While Jared Allen is certainly an elite level player, I do not know if I agree that he is deserving of his rating.

I think there have been six players rated a 99 on every Madden.

    T.Suggs 90
so i will say they meant
    D. Landry 87

    Ravens 2011 Superbowl champs

  3. Tito Jackson says:

    Yes, that Tito Jackson!

  4. Larry says:

I think Jermichael Finley emerged last year as a real threat and should be derserving of a top 10 TE rating. Where is Greg Jennings and Cullen Jenkins?

    • Bart Dart says:

Don't know if Jennings and Finley are top 10 yet. But Jenkins is definitely one of the most underrated players in the league.

    • Parker says:

Finley should definetly be in the top 10 in TEs. The league is jumping more toward the quick big play, Kellen Winslow type and wandering away from the savage run blocking TEs like Todd Heap, and when you can find a perfect balance in those two catagories like Davis and Gates, you have to be there. He's not there yet, but he will be, so why not give him some confidence on a madden game. lol

  5. Larry says:

Where are the full roster player ratings?

  6. Michael says:

where is donovan mcnabb and brent celek the QB and TE top 8 is BAD LIST

    • Parker says:

McNabb could'nt win a championship with a stacked eagles team with desean jackson and a declining but still capable brian westbrook through the prime of his career, obviously he isnt a top 10 let alone top 8 QB in the national football league

  7. Larry says:

Antonio Gates still at a 96. He is slowing down.

  8. mattcools49 says:

okay im a niner fan and happy with the vernon davis tightend ranking but why isnt finley on their? hes way better than cooley and winslow. and also wat about donald driver packer fans got jipped on some levels

  9. tommie says:

Houston gets no credit, we got the best wr in the last 2 years. Our qb was the leader in passing. After week 3 the defense was in the top 10. Last year our qb was rated the same as matt stafford and this year he's rated below the people who he threw more yards than. Our wr is supposely the best and he still didn't get a 99 but larry fitzgerald made it to the postseason and he was a 99 and on the cover. (No offense to larry he isa beast too.) But hopefully we make it to the postseason and maybe we get that respect and recognition. Prepare the texans r coming.

  10. SteelCity says:

How is BIg Ben not one of the Top QBs? While he is suspended, it does not take away from his ability

    • trueskin89 says:

The Steelers don't have to rely on his arm. He is not a great QB he has had great talent around him. He will forever have Hines Ward and Heath Miller and a until last season a beast of a running game… let's not mention that bully in the secondary, Troy. As you see, Troy went down and there went the steelers. Now if anything, his Break Tackles should be set to 97. That's his only real claim to fame. Even though he creates those situations most of the time.

    • smalldawg says:

It's about time Rashard Mendenhall gets some respect. He's rated 87.It's good enough for me.

  11. penquin says:

I'm still trying to figure out why DeAngelo Williams is only rated 92, I would like to see any other RB in the league RUN LESS then the second string RB but still get over 1000 yards, and be dangerous…. Not to mention Matt Schaub should DEFINITELY be rated higher then Tony Romo, meanwhile where is Big Ben? I don't care if he got in trouble with the law, he had a breakout season last year! (Tony Romo shouldn't even be on the list!) Meanwhile poor Dumervil is just rated 93, after having a season that at one point he was set to get 25 sacks in….

    • Parker says:

Did you really just say Big Ben had a break out year? The Steelers didn't even make play-offs last year!? Brush up on your football a little bit buddy

    • Justin says:

Big ben didnt even make the post season while Romo had one of his best year.

  12. Ryan says:

Where the heck is Calvin Johnson!?

    • Parker says:

They couldn't find him, he was too deep in the physically unable to perform list.

    • chiche' says:

ur right! Calvin Johnson has the best God Given talent of any wr ever!. six five, 230, faster than larry or andre, hands, big play capability, idk whats goin on here

  13. cbad says:

Yeremiah Bell only a 82 is the most ridiculous thing ever, he was a pro-bowler and rightfully so. he should be at least an 88. Also Brandon Fields was the 7th best punter in the league last year yet he is rated 67. Go figure.

  14. brody says:

i know, where the hell is greg jennings?

  15. allen says:

u cant tell me urlacher is not top ten mlb!?

  16. Chief says:

How is cb REVIS A 99??? He was beaten TWICE by TED GINN!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Also Y. Bell was a pro bowler, why isn't he in top 7 SS? HELLO !!

    • JETTIES says:

Revis beaten twice by ted ginn??? Its called zone coverage. Ted ginn couldn't beat revis in his wet dreams

    • Parker says:

Revis is the best defensive player in the league. fastest(defensively), quickest, best hips, sure tackler, good hands, a game changer. look at the list of receivers he covered. none of them had more then 4 recepetions and nobody had over 50 yards and 0 touchdowns givin up, not to mention he was the leading tackler out of all corners and safetys. You just sound like a dumb ass Dolphin fan

  17. Daniels says:

J.Byrd?! tied for league lead in interceptions and he doesnt make it? not even a 90 tisk tisk

    • Parker says:

Seriously, he shouldve won rookie of the year too, if it weren't for cushing and his steriods. I say at least a 91. Did I mention he's on the BILLS???!!!

    • raidersfan420 says:

i don't think 90 but somewhere in the high 80's like last year he was 85 so i give him like 88-89

  18. DaCowboys2011SBC says:

Romo is easily top 10 he stepped up big last year. Anthony Spencer should be top 10 LOLB. Mike Jenkins also should be at least considered in top 10 CB he is hands down the most physical CB in NFL and a playmaker. Also the man Brett Farve is underrated in my mind, and I hope he doesnt retire after the first year in franchise. Does anyone know if any new attributes were added this year?

  19. VickDaHood says:

    Real shit..
Calvin Johnson should be at least 95
    Ben Roethlisberger should hit 90
Hows Brady a 95 .. he's worn out after knee injury
    Moss aint all that either(91)
    wheres simms-walker??? (89)
Other than that everything else is madden 10' over again…
PS ted guinn aint beatin nobody

    • chiche' says:

Johnson, check, ben, check, brady- 95 is deserved, last year was weak, Moss, he always was a 99 type player, but was is the key word, simms, ehh, and neglecting to point out, there aint any good right tackles no more. two in the 90's?? come on, how am i gunna run the ball??

  20. DaCowboys2011SBC says:

Why is RG & RT so weak? How can Bob Sanders be better than Merriweather? Sanders has been injured nearly 85% of the time since the Colts won the Suoerbowl. Whats the new swagger rating supposed to do?

  21. trueskin89 says:

If there is ever any injustice Jason Campbell has been falsely represented every year. Since he has come in he has learned a new system and IMPROVED IN MULTIPLE AREAS EVERY YEAR. Yet in Madden his rating has DROPPED each year. McNabb had DeSean Jackson and his 80 yrd TDs seemingly at will and still Mcnabb only had two more TDs, 60 less attempts and a five percent lower completion rate. Granted the 'Skins haven't made it to the post season but then again every year our O-Line gets hurt at the begining of the season never recover, leaving JC to run for his life instead of play QB. (that's definately in MADDEN)

  22. NFL!@#$% says:

I thought Bethea was always going to be the most underrated defensive player in the NFL, but i was wrong. Props to Madden for giving him what he deserves unlike most players rated 95+, he had to earned it… That being said, Greg Jennings and Marques Colston deserve to be in that wide receiver category. Sure DeSean Jackson is fast, but hes an incomplete wide receiver. Hes no better then Tedd Ginn, he just had a quarterback who could get him the ball down field… Brett Farve is also rated above Matt Shaub and Tony Romo? That's a joke. Don't get me wrong, I love Farve and yeah maybe hes earned it after a fantastic career and season last year, but just imagine what Matt Shaub would do with that type of running game behind him…Another problem that I have is how Bob Sanders is just an 89. Yes, he gets injured ALOT, but when hes playing he's without a doubt the best player on the field, he's an absolute play maker in every phase… One last thought Keith Bullock was left out of the best OLB? Youre telling me he's not even an 85? Stop. He better be injured or something, the man is consistent year after year, and is the best coverage linebacker in the NFL.

    • Parker says:

Your hella dumb dude. alright your good with Bethea and Jennings and Colston but it all goes wrong at Desean Jackson. incomplete? He is relentless against press coverage, fast as hell, makes the tough catches over the middle, and hes a game changer. What in the hell are you looking for in a receiver?? Jacksons got it all and he can jerk like a boss and I'm not even an eagles fan. And Favre has the right to be ranked higher then Romo and Shaub. HE SLAUGHTERED Romo and the Cowboys, and Shaub can't stay healthy, so what, he had a good year with the best receiver in the nfl. Did he make playoffs? nope. Favre would have killed shaub too. and I hate Favre. Next, Bob Sanders hasn't even played in half of his teams last 32 games. All he does is hit hard, he's fun to watch but he's not deserving of a 90. Keith Bullock was in charge of the worst defense in the nfl, plus he got hurt. Broken Wrist tard. GO PACKERS

      • NFL!@#$% says:

Alright, "dude", first off, DeSean Jackson IS an incomplete wide receiver. He doesn't go over the middle and make the tough grabs consistently as you claim, he's too tiny and can't take a hit. Sure, he's fast but he's a terrible route runner and isn't even their go-to-guy on third downs, that would be Brent Celek. Second, Favre's supporting cast is insane compared to Romo and Shaub. They would love to be protected by McKinnie and Hutchenson, hand the ball off to AP, and throw to Rice, Harvin, Berrian, and Shiancoe. Favre didn't do anything with the Jets either when he had a lackluster supporting cast. Sure Shaub has the best wide receiver in the NFL, with the 30th ranked rushing attack you can take play action out of account with Shaub, and that's where Favre made most of his plays (hence an 82 qb rating on 3rd and long). Romo has Miles Austin (whom he has made into the receiver he is today) and Jason Witten. Roy Williams is a slow T.O. with even worse hands. When it comes to Bob Sanders, was it me or was he the Defensive MVP two years ago and a 99 on Madden? Uh yeah. Yeah he gets injured a lot but that shouldn't affect his rating when he's on the field, he flies around and makes big hits(which probably overshadows the rest of his game), but he can cover with the best of them, watch a game or two, buddy. When it comes to Bullock, I guess having the 28th ranked defense is the worst in the NFL..? I don't know about you but last time I checked there were 32 teams.. you can't put the blame on him, he does his part and facing MATT SHAUB who absolutely lit them up for 650+ yards and 6 TDs in two games, not to mention facing the best quarterback in the NFL twice a year. So watch some football before you start talking, bud.

        • Parker says:

Alright, how do you consider Desean Jackson as a poor route runner? I'm pretty sure that even with his speed it takes a little bit more to beat any safety or cornerback in the league and he IS a tough receiver, you have no idea, you just say that because he's small. Your selling him short, no pun intended. And I'm pretty sure that Sidney Rice and Visanthe Shiancoe had accomplished NOTHING in there careers before Favre came. AP had fumblitis which he had to put up with constintely as well. Sure Favre has a good line and run came but Romo doesn't? Andre Gurode, Flozell Adams, the big boy Colombo. The three headed running attack of Choice, Barber, and Jones? Can you not remember this? And Bob Sanders can't play safety from the bench. Shaub did everything off of play action! Just because he didnt have slaton this year doesn't mean he didn't get less carries, play action was huge in every single texans game. And nice lookin up the texans defensive stats haha jackass, does it make a difference whether he's the leader of a 28th or 32nd ranked defense. They both suck ass and

          • Parker says:

since when does the division matter? look at all the NFC East teams. All good teams, mostly respective defensive ranks. Oh and by the way, it's funny how I can piss some guy off when he knows football. I'm 13 hahaha. You do have a point with Shaub but how can he not play effectivley with Owen Daniels and Andre Johnson, the best.

  23. brian gosvener says:

how bout my man jamal charles. jamal charles averaged a whopping 5.9 yards a carry. he had over a 1000 rushing yards in just a little over half a season. so why wouldnt he be one of the top running backs? well you may say he hasnt proven himself over a long period of time, you may say that he could be a fluke, but you would be wrong. this isnt the only year in his career that he has performed to this level. his rookie season he averaged around 5.5 yards a carry and had over 500 rushing yards. the only reason that jamal charles aint competing with cris johnson for top running back in the league is becuase it took the sorry ass chiefs to damn long to realize how rare his talent is. the chiefs were determined that larry johnson was still their man for too long. another little thing to think about when judging jamal charles, the chiefs had one of the worst offensive lines ever. larry johnson averaged less than 3 yards a carry last year with the chiefs and he used to be one of the best backs in the nfl. when jamal took over he averaged almost 6 yards a carry, that is ridiculous. that is well more than cris johnson. jamal is one of the best backs in the league, id give him a 94

    • Parker says:

He's not one of the best running backs in the league. Plus he's gonna have to split some carries with Dexter McCluster. But yeah, props to jamaal for puttin up big numbers. hes not a workhorse though

  24. brian gosvener says:

i seen this time and time again when it comes to the chiefs running backs. it took madden too lone to realize how good priest holmes was and by time they did his career was coming to an end. it took them too long to realize how good larry johnson was and by time they did his career was coming to an end. and now its going to take them too damn long to realize that jamal charles is one of the best and since jamal isnt a big running back, i dont see his career lasting that long

  25. Colts fan says:

Bob sanders go hard first game back he caught a pick to seal the he should at leastb back at 93 . Dallas clark best Te jarred allen isnt better tha dwight freeny or mathis.

    • raidersfan420 says:

      jarred allen is a beast!

    • saints fan says:

you stupid idiot first off bob sanders cant do crap cuz hes always on the sidelines i see him as a low 80 second off dallas clark is good but jason witten and vernon davis are better and third freeny and mathis are nothing compared to jared allen!!!!!

    • Parker says:

I hate Jared Allen but yeah he's way better then Freeney and Mathis. Bob Sanders sucks too. He's just fun to watch. 84. Dallas Clark can't touch Witten, VD, Gates, Gonzales, or Jermichael Finley

    • adrian peterson #1 says:

jared allen is a beast nobody can stop him and adrian peterson ap will have at least 2,000 yards this football season

  26. Thegoat says:

You have got to be kidding me. For those of you that hate on Tony romo every year Is ridicoulous. Matt schaub couldn’t even use the same porter potty as romo. Schaub has never been to the playoffs. An I bet you the same people that hate on romo are the same people that said Romo would do terrible last year without Owens. What happen oh yea he made emerge another wide reciever who is underated on the game in miles Austin. Not to mention he had to deal with the joke Roy Williams who was supposed to be good on the cowboys. Let’s not give schaub a top ten qb for one year. He never stays healthy other than last year. Not to mention there was a qb also led NFL in passing yards at one time cullpepper and look what happen to him when moss left. That would be the samething that would happen in Andre Johnson left.

  27. Dane says:

    what about urlacher

  28. smalldawg says:

Ray Lewis should be rated 98 or 99!!!!!!!!!

  29. TS11 says:

look i dont understand how anyone can think urlacher is top ten mlb in the league hes freakin injured all the damn time. Again whoever said dwight freeney is better than jared allen should shoot themselves look at stats son. just stats alone. while dwight freeney is a great pass rusher he doesnt support the run no where near as well as jared allen. Jared allen deserves his stats as he brings it literally every play.

  30. cbg says:

I dnt care if my team was a 72 n I had players rate 4 or 5 I’m gonna get it n who cares wtf the ratings r play n go hard cause its all skill whn it comes dwn 2 it

  31. cbg says:

Let’s go Ravens!!! Can’t wait 2 see my team in person this year praying Superbowl!!!

  32. smalldawg says:

When is Brett Farve going to retire. He is probably not going to win he super bowl.Plus Vishanta Shincoe had a miracle season, he can't do it again. The Vikings were at the top of there game last year and they still didn't go to the super bowl.I hope Jared Allen takes Brett out in practice.

  33. ELCU says:

Hey everyone would you like to play the game before anyone else??….. 34. Baysdell says:

Ocho cinco is top 10 wr no doubt man can run routes and is quick and fast can seperate from ne1 bsides revis but no1 can from him but if he’s not top 10 he ness to b near to it. Also patrick silos is a once in a generation Mlb dude is big and strong as heck and runs like a safety him and revis shiould b only defensive players rated 99 there on a dif. Lvl no disrespect

  35. DeeZnutZZ says:

you guys are idiots those are the fastest players

  36. footballvet says:

Tom Brady shoulde be down some. Rodgers and River too. They should have put Romo up some spots and my boy Favre

    • ronald says:

Footballvet you’re an idiot, “rodgers and rivers should be down some?!?!?!” Are you kidding me? What has romo done to prove himself with a terrific supporting cast? He can’t even hold on to the ball, meanwhile rodgers has had back to back 4000 yard passing seasons in his 1st 2 seasons with an a terrible offensive line all while handling the favre situation like a man… Just because romo plays in dallas doesn’t mean he’s a great quarterback

  37. adam violette says:

Vikings O-line was beat up last year and didn't perform well.. whoever said they were playing at the top of their game is an idiot.. They have as much talent as any team but they were dinged by injuries.. especially on Defense.. (E.J, Winfield, Pat Williams) Peterson had to create his own holes all season long as well. With Favre its a Super Bowl for the VIKES!!

  38. NFL!@#$% says:

DeSean Jackson caught only 9 balls over the middle last year.. he shies away from contact, as with just about any other receiver his size. 36 of his 63 receptions last year came on first down, with that speed and catching the defense off guard on first down, you don't need good route running. They know how to utilize him and take advantage of his strengths. As far as Shiancoe goes, he's been improving every year he's been in Minnesota. Rice was a second round pick waiting to burst. Did I say anything about Romo's O-line or RBs? No. I was talking about the lack of receivers he had last year, yet he still put up great numbers. As far as Bob goes, his overall rating shouldn't diminish just because he's injury prone. When he's on the field, he's a beast who makes his team that much better. When teams have a bad running game its not like they abandon play action, most of them stick with it but the defense tends not to bite as hard, so yeah it was a disadvantage for Shaub. Yes, the Texans do run the ball less because a 3.5 yard per carry average does not help. The team lives and dies with Shaub's arm. When it comes to Bullock and the Titans defense, I'm pretty sure the division matters when you're talking about defensive statistics considering you face each team twice a year. Where did the NFC East argument come from? I've been talking about Keith Bullock, I'm not quite sure how that turned into talking about the NFC East. Ha. I hate Tennessee, but you have to give credit where credit is deserved, you can't put the blame of the defense as a whole on one guy. PS – I'm 14.

Desean Jackson did'nt use the element of surprise. The Eagles had a horrible running game. And EVERYBODY was on the verge of calling Sidney Rice a bust. Favre just saved his career. And when it comes to Romo, you said Favre had a huge advantage with a better "supporting cast" and you praised his line and running back, when Romo has the same thing going for him, and lack of receivers? Witten, MILES AUSTIN, Roy Williams, a shaky but ehhh receiver with Patrick Crayton, not bad, Favre had Percy the pimp and Sidney and Shiancoe was a touchdown target. Even to me? With Sanders I say we give him a 99 and just put a lock on him so nobodys allowed to play with him. Sounds fair. And the team does live and die on Shaubs arm, thats why they can't make playoffs. The NFC East argument came when you stated that Keith Bullock and the titans were in a good division so their ranking suffered. Keith Bullock is the leader of that defense, the quarterback, the boss, whatever you want to call him. Urlacher has never had a horrible defense. Granted he hasn't necessarily had the best but 28th!??

  40. Parker says:

Ray Lewis has never had a horrible defense. Patrick Willis just brought the 49ers defense from the dead to be top 10 if i'm not mistaken. You don't understand that bullock IS responsible for that defense. its not bad either. Hope, Finnegan, Vanden Bosch is gone now but he was there. He isn't the run stopper he used to be. Your just missing half of his game
